CBD full spectrum: what exactly are we talking about?

CBD, or cannabidiol, is a phytocannabinoid, a substance derived from the cannabis plant. While there are over a hundred different types, the best-known are CBD and THC (tetrahydrocannabinol). Unlike CBD, THC produces an intoxicating effect and makes you "high" when consumed at certain levels. That's why CBD products must contain no more than 0.3% THC to be authorized for sale.

In a full-spectrum CBD product product contains all the active compounds naturally present in the cannabis plant, including THC (within the legal limit). It also contains secondary metabolites such as :

- Terpenes: aromatic compounds that give the plant its distinctive fragrance. They are also known for their anti-inflammatory effects.

- Flavonoids: substances naturally present in plants. They have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits. The cannabis plant contains almost twenty of them.

- Polyphenols: renowned for their antioxidant properties.

Each substance in the cannabis plant has interesting benefits for the body. Combined, they produce what is known as the "entourage effect". entourage effect ". Acting synergistically, they increase the effects of a CBD product tenfold, acting more effectively than a phytocannabinoid consumed alone.[1].

CBD full spectrum: advantages and disadvantages

Before choosing a CBD full spectrumproduct, consider its advantages and disadvantages. It is particularly interesting for :

- reduce anxiety ;

- improve sleep disorders;

- relieve chronic pain and inflammation;

- benefit from an entourage effect ;

- access to a wide range of different products.

However, its use can have certain disadvantages, such as :

- psychoactive effects if the product is taken in high doses or is of poor quality (unreliable seller, product not verified by an independent laboratory);

- the possibility of positive results in screening tests. However, this risk is minimal, since THC is present in small quantities;

- effects too strong for people sensitive to CBD. In this case, it's best to start with CBD isolate or a low-dose broad-spectrum product.

A full-spectrum product is aimed at people who want to enjoy the full benefits of CBD. It is an interesting option for consumers who are accustomed to taking it and are looking for more potent formulas.
