50% CBD

A Cannabinoid found in the cannabis plant, CBD regulates the body's homeostasis. In particular, it interacts with the 5-HT1A receptors in the nervous system responsible for serotonin.

50% CBN

Often referred to as the "sleep cannabinoid" because of its strong sedative effect , it's the second best cannabinoid after CBD. Cannabinol has many properties (anti-inflammatory, calming, anticonvulsant, etc.), but the one that stands out most is its sedative action, thanks to its interaction with the central nervous system (CNS ) and the CB1 receptor.

We share with you a summary of a scientific study on the benefits of CBN on insomnia conducted by an Australian laboratory on 20 people suffering from chronic insomnia. The study proves the benefits of CBN on insomnia, with positive results.

1% Melatonin

This time, it's not a cannabinoid, nor a cannabis-related molecule. You may know it as the " sleep hormone ", melatonin is synthesized naturally by the human body and helps you fall asleep every night.

It is synthesized by the pineal gland (located in the brain) and plays a key role in maintaining the circadian rhythm (day and night). The circadian clock regulates our daily processes thanks to melatonin, which is synthesized at the end of each day (when natural light diminishes) and throughout the night, peaking at around 3 - 3.30 a.m. (time for deep sleep), then diminishing in the early morning (when day breaks) to enable the body to wake up and start the day.

An intake of melatonin 30 minutes before bedtime helps to re-establish a proper circadian rhythm for people whose bodies do not synthesize enough melatonin naturally, or not at the right time.

Ylang-Ylang extract

Used in Asia for decades, Ylang-Ylang oil is extracted from fresh flowers and brings a variety of benefits to the human body, such as reducing stress and anxiety levels and promoting relaxation. Following its international recognition as an essential oil for well-being, Ylang-Ylang has been massively exploited, and its popularity in aromatherapy circles is growing all the time.

Its calming and relaxing properties play a major role in reducing stress levels. In fact, Ylang-Ylang reduces and stabilizes cortisol levels (the stress hormone), an ideal property for relaxing the body before going to sleep.

Lavender extract

The properties of lavender need no introduction: it is renowned for its soothing and calming benefits, helping to reduce stress and anxiety. Used in a variety of ways (inhalation, massage, herbal tea...), it is the queen of many wellness products.

Its interaction with the body in relation to sleep is not really clear, but it plays a major role in soothing the mind and body , bringing the mind to a state of relaxation that promotes sleep.

Study on the sleep-inducing benefits of Ylang-Ylang and Lavender

A scientific study was carried out (in a purely research context, with no private funding) by a team of scientists in Texas, testing a Ylang-Ylang and Lavender essential oil with Bergamot extracts on patients to study the benefits on their sleep.

Feedback has been very positive: on nights spent using the oil, patients experienced a higher quality of sleep and therefore more effective rest. However, there was no change in sleep duration.

The recommended daily dose of CBD is 50mg, and the maximum daily dose of melatonin according toANSES recommendations is 2mg.

For this reason, we propose an adapted and gradual dosage according to needs:

Start with one capsule a night (25mg CBD, 25mg CBN and 1mg melatonin) for one week to ten days. If after this period you don't feel any improvement in the quality of your sleep, you can switch to two capsules a night (i.e. 50mg CBD, 50mg CBN and 2mg melatonin).

Two capsules per evening is the maximum dose.

How to use CBD capsules?

We recommend that you take our capsules in the evening, after eating and, more precisely, 30 minutes before going to bed.

Place the capsule in your mouth and drink a glass of water to swallow it gently. You'll feel the benefits 30 minutes to 1 hour after taking it.

Our CBD sleep capsules are formulated in France in a qualified laboratory run by a team of professionals, the first to produce CBD oil in France.

Cannabinoids (CBD, CBN, CBG...) are extracted using supercritical CO2 to obtain what is known as " Full Spectrum " extraction, which includes all plant components (cannabinoids, flavonoids, terpenes...). This type of extraction enables us to obtain an oil with a surrounding effect and greater benefits.

The "entourage effect " means that through the presence of all the components of the cannabis plant, the oil will have a more powerful effect and therefore a better impact on the body. The various components work together in synergy to provide greater benefits for the human body, and therefore better support for pathologies. This can be summarized as "we work better as a team".

What is the difference between our CBD Sleep oil and our CBD Sleep capsules?

Our sleep oil contains only CBD, CBN and melatonin, while our capsules contain extracts of Ylang Ylang and Lavender, plants which promote relaxation and sleep.

What's more, our capsules are more concentrated (25mg of CBD and CBN per capsule), so you only need to take one or two capsules a night, as opposed to 4 drops of oil.

Finally, the mode of administration is not the same: on the one hand, you have a capsule that will be ingested and then digested, and on the other, an oil that will be absorbed directly by the mucous membranes of the mouth.

Capsules are sometimes considered "simpler" to use than oil, where drops must be placed one by one under the tongue.

Is melatonin addictive?

To date, no study has found melatonin to be addictive, as it is initially synthesized by the human body.
Taking melatonin as a supplement will not make you dependent, and no tolerance linked to regular intake will develop.

Is mixing CBD and melatonin dangerous?

No, since the two molecules do not potentiate each other, their effects being based on different physiological mechanisms, they will not increase the potency of either.

However, it is important to respect the maximum daily dosage for melatonin, set byANSES at 2mg melatonin per day. We follow the ANSES recommendations and have established an adapted dosage with a maximum of 2mg of melatonin per day by taking a maximum of 2 capsules.

Can I overdose on melatonin? Are overdoses risky?

To date, no melatonin overdose has been recorded, and scientific studies prove that it is impossible to die from a melatonin overdose.

A study has also been carried out on a 42-year-old suicide attempt involving melatonin taken at 120mg (60 times the maximum daily dose). She was taken to emergency and discharged 12 hours later with only symptoms of drowsiness.

Are drug interactions possible?

Several studies have shown that melatonin and benzodiazepines (certain antidepressants or sleeping pills) can potentiate each other, and that the sedative effects of benzodiazepines can then be increased.

Nothing serious so far, it is simply recommended not to take these two molecules at the same time.

Contraindications and precautions for use of melatonin

Melatonin can make you drowsy, so we do not recommend driving or using machine tools after taking it.

In general, we recommend using our CBD & Melatonin oil when you want to sleep, no matter what time of day it is, but when you have done everything you had to do beforehand (work, driving...).
